Promoter Eddie Hearn complimented Gustavo Lemos, saying he was “fantastic” in his loss to his fighter, Richardson Hitchins, last Saturday night in their IBF light welterweight title eliminator and that the Argentinian will be “back real soon.”
It would be a good idea for Hearn to scrap the idea of building the 26-year-old Hitchins (18-0, 7 KOs) into a star and focus on Lemos instead. Hitchins has got about as much charisma as a wet paper bag. Yeah, he’s a great braggart, but man, there’s no talent inside the ring and pure, 100% safety first bore.
Hitchins: Ditch Him Already
If you’re Hearn, you can’t get rid of Hitchins quickly enough. Wash your hands of him, recognize that he’s a lost cause, and he’ll never pan out. Hearn just needs to admit to himself that he got it wrong about Hitchins, just like he did with Regis Prograis and made the mistake of signing him to his Matchroom stable.
Even if Hearn matches…
