Denver, BC Set for Rematch in Championship Game

SAINT PAUL, Minn. When Denver and Boston College met at a sold-out Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill, Mass., on Oct. 21 — at the time, just the fourth game of the season for each team — the Pioneers and Eagles put on a show, and even then, it all seemed a bit like a preview.
Denver won, 4-3, on the strength of a power-play goal by Carter King late in the third period. Will Smith, the fourth-overall pick by the San Jose Sharks last summer, opened the scoring for BC in that game — just as he did on Thursday in the Eagles’ semifinal win over Michigan. He scored again in the third, in what would be part of his eventual 71 points in 40 games this season heading…
