SAINT PAUL, Minn. Last year, Dylan Lugris approached Penn State coach Guy Gadowsky with an idea that he thought would bring the Hockey Valley community together: The Penn State Sled Hockey Classic, a scrimmage between Centre County’s local sled hockey team, the State College Coyotes, and the men’s ice hockey team.
Now, after its second go-around in 2024, and raising more than $40,000 for the Coyotes and adaptive sports in Centre County, Lugris is the recipient of the 2024 Hockey Humanitarian Award, which recognizes college hockey’s finest citizen.
