SAINT PAUL, Minn. Maybe there aren’t too many similarities between college hockey games in the year 2024 and ancient Roman warfare in the time of Mark Antony.
Then again, maybe there are.
The top overall seed Boston College Eagles shut down Michigan, 4-0, in the national semifinals on Thursday night. Before and after the game, as they have all season, they wore t-shirts with the text ‘SHIELDS UP’ displayed on the back. It’s in place of a nameplate, and in the spirit of a ‘team-first’ mentality, that’s fitting.
