Richardson Hitchins says he doesn’t rate the February 22nd contest between WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson and Floyd Schofield as being a “good fight” due to the mismatch in skills.
Hitchins feels that Schofield (18-0, 12 KOs) will make it an “entertaining fight” because of his ability to hurt Shakur (22-0, 10 KOs), but it’s NOT the same kind of high-level match compared to Stevenson facing Gervonta Davis.

The criticism fans and the media have about Shakur selecting the 22-year-old prospect Schofield is that he’s facing a guy that has never fought anyone yet noteworthy be given a world title shot.
Many fighters in the top 15 come from great amateur backgrounds, like 2020 Olympic gold medalist Andy Cruz or Keyshawn Davis, who Shakur could have fought but didn’t. He selected Schofield, and it looks bad in the eyes of the fans, giving them the impression that he’s making sure he doesn’t lose…
