South African group 1 winner Cloth of Cloud topped the Tattersalls Online December Sale Dec. 12, when making 180,000 guineas (US$239,400, 1 guinea=US$1.33) to Hubie de Burgh.
Winner of the S A Nursery (G1) at Turffontein in 2016, and the Pretty Polly Stakes (G3) the same year, Moulton Stud’s daughter of Captain Al formed part of the Southern Hemisphere session in the sale, whereby a select bunch of mares were offered in foal to Too Darn Hot .
The 11-year-old, a half sister to fellow top-level winner Silver Mountain, is the dam of Garden Route. The son of Galileo won a Windsor novice for the William Haggas yard in June last year.
Cloth of Cloud also produced a colt by Wootton Bassett this year, who sold to Glenvale Stud for 200,000 guineas at the recent Tattersalls December Foal Sale when offered by The Castlebridge Consignment.
