Indian off-spin stalwart Ravichandran Ashwin announced his retirement from international cricket on Wednesday, following the conclusion of the third Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test against Australia in Brisbane.
A prolific performer, Ashwin retired with 537 Test wickets at an average of 24, along with 3,503 runs, including six centuries. He also claimed 156 wickets in ODIs and 72 in T20Is.
Dominating in home conditions for nearly a decade, Ashwin delivered many memorable performances, particularly under former captain Virat Kohli, who extended his best wishes for the next chapter of Ashwin’s life.
