Andrew Kuzma, one of Penn State’s top recruits this season, has yet to play a game. Today, Kuzma announced the reason why on his social media.
Kuzma said he was diagnosed with a genetic heart condition during a routine exam upon arriving to Penn State. He underwent surgery Nov. 22 to correct the issue, and has been recovering at home since.
“(I) am excited to return to Penn State to begin the process of getting back on the ice,” Kuzma said.
“I couldn’t be more thankful to Penn State’s medical staff for saving me from a possible catastrophic incident by alerting me to this diagnosis.”
Kuzma said he’s optimistic for a quick recovery, and looks forward to being part of the team going forward.
