Pat Ferschweiler remembers meeting Owen Michaels for the first time and leaving the arena impressed by three main qualities – Michaels’ competitiveness, leadership ability and his work ethic. All of which he’s come to appreciate even more over the past 18 months.
Michaels’ junior career spanned over parts of five seasons and likely took longer than he initially expected, yet the Michigan native came into Kalamazoo ready to play and has continued to excel in year two.
The sophomore forward is Ferschweiler’s type of player and could very well be WMU’s future captain, and he’s being rewarded on the scoresheet too.
“Owen’s just a fierce competitor,” Ferschweiler told CHN….
