BIG RAPIDS, Mich. Ferris State’s Bob Daniels, currently in his 33rd year as head coach of the Bulldogs, is the latest to announce his retirement, effective at the end of this season.
Daniels, who won his 500th game earlier this season, including four NCAA Tournament appearances, joins Jeff Jackson (Notre Dame), Mike Schafer (Cornell) and Brian Riley (Army) as those who have announced this will be their last season.
“When I came to Ferris State University in 1989, I never imagined being here 36 years later,” Daniels said. “I feel extremely blessed to have worked at such an outstanding institution with such wonderful people. It’s been an honor and privilege to serve as coach.
