Daniil Medvedev had a very unproductive Australian Open in several ways. First, the three-time finalist was knocked out in the second round by 19-year-old qualifier, which marks his earliest loss since his debut in Melbourne in 2017.
Second he was docked $76,000 for two separate violations, and could end up paying more as he is still on the hook for replacing the camera that he violently smashed during his first-round win over World No.418 Kasidit Samrej.

Medvedev was hit with a $10,000 fine for code violations in the first round, and another $66,000 for multiple violations during his loss to Tien, including a fine for skipping his post-match press conference.
