Arsenal will be missing their star defender William Saliba for the crucial tie against Aston Villa today as the Frenchman has been left out of the matchday squad with a hamstring issue. It is understood that the defender woke up with some soreness in his muscles and has been left out of the squad officially due to hamstring tightness according to the club’s medical team.
Arsenal are hopeful that a win will see the club move closer to the top of the Premier League, looking to catch Liverpool who remain top with a game in hand.
However, the loss of Saliba will hopefully be a short absence as the Gunners still have plenty of games to play in the month of January, including a crucial match against Man City on the horizon in February.
