Bob Daniels’ Retirement Ends Incredible Career in Big Rapids

Bob Daniels is Ferris State hockey.
Sometimes, a claim such as that will be disputed. However, no constant figure has been on the tiny campus in Big Rapids, Michigan longer than the head coach of the Bulldogs. The former Michigan State player joined the program as an assistant in 1989, taking over the top job after Bob Mancini stepped down in 1992.
Over the past 32 years, Daniels has established the small program as one of the more respected teams in the country. The Livonia native is the second-longest-tenured head coach in the country. Only Mercyhurst’s Rick Gotkin has been at the helm of a college hockey…
