Boston College and Boston University will play in the championship game of the Beanpot on Monday night.
The last time these teams met two weeks ago, the storyline coming out of the game wasn’t BC’s 2-0 win, or the player of BU freshman goaltender Mikhail Yegorov.
The talk centered on Yegorov’s penalty for a protocol violation: he went out for warmups almost 90 seconds early, following a rink door opening.
The takes were abundant. My favorite was the idea that “it was a ploy by BC to trick him into the penalty.
I don’t buy into the “BC did it on purpose” theory whatsoever.
