Alex Tracy’s hockey career has been quite the journey, and that’s putting it mildly.
The Chicago native started playing hockey at 7 but didn’t play goalie until he was 8, and it happened by freak chance at that.
Tracy, who started as a defenseman, and one of his teammates decided to switch positions during a 3-on-3 summer tournament. Tracy strapped on the pads for the first time and led his team to the championship game, before the two decided to switch back.
