Minnesota State clinched its ninth MacNaughton Cup championship, locking up the CCHA crown with a sweep of Lake Superior State.
Meanwhile, Holy Cross also locked up at least a share of the Atlantic Hockey regular-season title despite not playing Saturday. It’s the Crusaders’ first regular-season championship since 2006, and the first for fourth-year coach Bill Riga.
If Holy Cross loses its final game Monday against American International, it would wind up in a tie with Sacred Heart and share the crown. But Holy Cross still has already clinched the No. 1 seed in the postseason tournament.
