While the rest of the conference was mostly playing “play out the string” kind of games, the top two teams in the conference did battle at Mullett Arena in Tempe, and the series lived up to billing.
Western Michigan came into the weekend five points up, and left three points up with two games in hand, still plenty to be in the driver’s seat going into its last four games. Arizona State did what it needed to do to stay in the race, and on the Pairwise bubble, though without a sweep, both of those things are still tough tasks.
