Cole Hutson, the third Hutson brother to play for Boston University, has been named College Hockey News Rookie of the Year.
Hutson, a defenseman and 2nd Round pick of Washington in the 2024 NHL Draft, picked up his 40th point of the season in last week’s Hockey East Tournament semifinal against Connecticut.
BU is a 2 seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament, where it will face Ohio State on Thursday in the Toledo Regional.

Hutson’s 40 points are third in the nation among all defenseman, and most by any freshman this season. He logs over 23 minutes of ice time per game.
