Grant Potulny had two years remaining on his contract at Northern Michigan but the school will not be paying him a buyout. The school said Wednesday that Potulny’s decision to resign was his, and therefore they don’t owe him the balance of his contract.
NMU’s search committee met Monday for the first time and the school hopes to have a hire in place within the next couple of weeks. Athletic director Rick Comley, who is also the interim head coach during the search, said that familiarity with the school and Marquette, Mich., is “ideal.”
“I don’t need someone coming in here giving us a list of 20 things they want that we’re not doing,” Comley said….
