Alum Brock Sheahan Will Take His Place Next Season

SOUTH BEND, Ind. Jeff Jackson, who has been an NCAA head coach for 25 years, including the last 19 at Notre Dame, announced his retirement today, effective at the end of the upcoming season.
The two-time national champion becomes the second head coach to make a similar announcement in the last couple of weeks, following Cornell’s Mike Schafer. In both cases, the schools named a “head coach in waiting” at the same time. In Notre Dame’s case, that’s 2008 alumnus Brock Sheahan, who has been an assistant coach with the Irish since the start of last season.
