Union On Mission in Final Season at Historic Rink

Every player has their spot where the world stops. Nick Young’s is in the center of the home bench, staring at a block letter “U”.
The hours before puck drop are the busiest of the week at Union’s Messa Rink at Achilles Center, as everyone from coaches to concession workers rush to make final game day preparations.
In this moment, though, it’s just Young and the wooden behemoth of an arena before him.
“I just take it all in,” the junior defenseman said.
Eventually, reality comes back into view. The Garnet Chargers take the ice, then leave it. The rink goes dark. The cycle repeats. But it won’t for much longer.
