Boston College was a whisker from a national championship last season, done in by Denver’s outstanding performance in the final game.
Mustering the mental energy to come back the next season, with a lot of the same players, and get through another season without looking too far ahead, is not always easy.
But the Eagles so far are 7-1, and looking as strong, or better, than ever. Those eight games haven’t come against cupcakes either — two road games at Michigan State, two more at St. Cloud State, Western Michigan, and then this past weekend at home against Maine. That’s a formidable schedule for anyone — all of those teams are contenders to make the NCAAs again.
