Spartans Off to 9-1 Start After Sweep of Notre Dame

In case there was any question whether last year was a fluke, it was not.
Michigan State, after winning the Big Ten Tournament championship last season in a thriller over rival Michigan, then coming up one game short of the Frozen Four, is off to a 9-1 start following a sweep of Notre Dame.
Of course, coaches don’t like to keep teams grounded.
“I know everyone’s excited about the start of the season, but there’s still a lot of hockey left,” MSU coach Adam Nightingale said.
Nevertheless, last weekend’s 8-3 and 4-3 wins were enough to earn the Spartans CHN’s Team of the Week. That was 12 goals by 11 different goal scorers. In fact, the only multi-goal scorer…
