Webster overcomes in-game injury en route to championship win for Denver

SAINT PAUL, Minn. The sight of Denver captain McKade Webster crumpling to the ice after a violent collision against the boards — a minor penalty for boarding called on the play against Boston College junior Mike Posma — seemed jarring.
After all, Webster, the St. Louis native who was playing in his 134th and final game for the Pioneers in Saturday’s national championship game, has been the heart-and-soul player for the Pioneers all season. He scored twice in DU’s NCHC tournament title win over Omaha and has battled through injuries for months.
