Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has explained the reason behind substituting Bruno Fernandes against Nottingham Forest.
The Red Devils suffered a 3-2 Premier League defeat to Forest at Old Trafford earlier today where they were defensively vulnerable.
Fernandes had a poor game when it came to ball control, but he was brilliant in an attacking sense and scored a wonderful second goal.
Despite this, Amorim made the decision to replace him at 3-2 and when asked for the reason, the Portuguese said that Fernandes was too tired.
He said: “Bruno [Fernandes] was too tired and I wanted [Mason] Mount to play that position of second midfielder who opens a bit on the left.”
United have now suffered back-to-back league losses under Amorim and they are languishing in the 13th spot with just 19 points on the board.
