The Fasig-Tipton December Digital Sale closed Dec. 11 with 401 horses sold for a record $10,031,300. The gross is believed to be a world record for a Thoroughbred auction conducted exclusively online, according to the auction company. More than 1,200 bidders were registered to bid.
The digital platform has now grossed more than $45.5 million in 2024. With 1,417 sold from 1,789 offered, the platform has a 79% clearance rate this year.
Allez Marie , consigned as Hip 337 by Three Chimneys Farm, topped the session and the sale when sold for $750,000. Three Chimneys Farm also was listed as buyer. A daughter of successful broodmare sire Unbridled’s Song out of 2005 Kentucky Oaks (G1) winner Summerly, graded-placed Allez Marie has already produced four black-type horses, including stakes winners Workaholic and Legalize .
