Boston College freshman Ryan Leonard has decided to stay with the Eagles for another season, the Washington Capitals announced today.
Leonard was selected eighth overall by Washington in last year’s NHL Draft. He went on to score 31 goals this season and helped lead BC to the national championship game, where it lost to Denver. Along with fellow freshmen linemates Will Smith and Gabe Perreault, the trio formed the most dynamic line in college hockey, and also picked up a gold medal with Team USA at the World Juniors.
