Northern Michigan’s Upset Win over Minnesota State Part of Revamped Program’s Process

Was it for a national championship? No.
Was it for a spot in the Frozen Four? No.
Was it even for a conference championship? No.
Yet, Northern Michigan’s stunning 3-2 win over nationally-ranked Minnesota State at the Barry Events Center last Friday night, kicking off the second half in grand fashion, was definitely the biggest win of the season for a program left in disarray last summer.
Much has been written about the mass exodus of talent in Marquette following Grant Potulny’s departure. Yet, head coach and former Wildcat Dave Shyiak has made it his mission to build this program…
