Boston College took another step towards clinching the Hockey East regular-season title this weekend, though with four games still remaining for second-place Maine, there is still work to do.
The Eagles swept Vermont in Burlington, while Maine lost Friday in overtime to Connecticut. The teams went into the weekend tied, but BC is now up by five points, with one more game played.
BC has a home-and-home with last-place New Hampshire, the finishes the season against Merrimack.
Saturday, Andre Gasseau scored twice, and Ryan Leonard added his nation’s-best 27th.
