Pioneers coach David Carle mentioned a tactical difference.
“I think maybe a little bit in our head we felt like there was going to be a little bit more time and space based on what we played last weekend, what we watched in the Sioux Falls regional of them,” Carle said.
But there’s also the emotional difference, trying to “get your legs going,” which is often just a euphemism for shaking off the jitters and getting your head in the game, matching an opponent you maybe weren’t ready for.
