When Mikhail Yegorov got the call asking him to leave the Omaha Lancers of the USHL for an early enrollment at Boston University, you would think the decision would be an easy one.
Operationally, the Lancers have been one of the most dysfunctional organizations in all of hockey — now on its sixth head coach in three years. They haven’t won a game since Nov. 16, their sixth win of the season. They’ve had two coaches since then.
However, for Yegorov, the decision was far from easy.
